Poisoned dreams

"The people who were considered outcasts and freaks at high school - these people ended up being the most well-adjusted, really attractive (not just physically but attractive as people) and were doing really well. And the other people had faded. The presidents, the jocks, they had truly peaked in high school, and it was so shocking to see that. It confirmed your suspicions about things, because those who were tortured were forced to be their own people; they couldn’t rely on society, they couldn’t rely on the culture or the hierarchy to take care of them, so to speak, so they had to make themselves acceptable."

- Tim Burton
